This Privacy Policy explains how Ambã Nutrition (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit ambanutrition.com, contact us, book a consultation, or purchase an apothecary product.

Ambã Nutrition is operated by Shannon Strickland, Functional Nutrition Counsellor, based in Ericeira, Portugal. The practice is small and run by one person; you can reach us at any time at info@ambanutrition.com.

1. What we collect

We collect only what we need to do the work you’ve asked us to do. Depending on how you interact with the site, that may include:

• Contact information— name, email address, and the message you write to us through the contact form, by email, or via Instagram direct message.
• Consultation information— if you book a consultation, we collect what you provide on the booking form (typically: name, email, phone if you choose to share it, your stage, and any context you offer about your situation).
• Health information you choose to share— during a consultation or by email, you may share information about your health, bloodwork, diet, or stage. We treat this with extra care (see “Sensitive information” below).
• Purchase information— if you buy an apothecary product, we collect your name, email, shipping address, and order details. Payment card information is handled directly by Stripe (we never see or store your card number).
• Site analytics— we use Plausible Analytics, which is privacy-first and cookieless. It tells us aggregate things like “how many people visited the homepage today” without identifying individual visitors.
• Technical information— standard server logs collected by our hosting provider (Vercel) for operational purposes, including IP address and user-agent. These are kept briefly and used only to keep the site secure and working.

2. How we use it

We use this information to:

• Reply to your messages and inquiries.
• Schedule, prepare for, and follow up on your consultation, and to tailor any nutrition guidance to your stage and circumstances.
• Process and fulfil apothecary orders, including shipping and invoicing.
• Keep records that we’re legally required to keep (e.g. invoices and tax records).
• Understand which pages of the site are useful, in aggregate, so we can improve them.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to retarget you with ads.

3. Sensitive information

Health and reproductive information is sensitive under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). When you share this information with us — for example, during a consultation — we treat it as confidential. We use it only to provide the service you’ve asked for, store it only as long as we need to, and never share it with third parties except where you ask us to (for example, to coordinate with your doctor).

4. Who else handles your information

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this practice. Each one is bound by their own privacy obligations and processes your information only on our behalf:

• GoHighLevel (via axeplatform.com)— powers our contact form, booking calendar, and customer records.
• Stripe— processes apothecary payments. They handle card details directly under their own security standards (PCI-DSS).
• Vercel— hosts the website itself.
• Plausible Analytics— provides aggregate, cookieless site analytics. Hosted in the EU.
• Email and shipping providers— used as needed to reply to you and ship products.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that’s the case, your information is transferred under appropriate safeguards (typically the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses).

5. Cookies

The site does not use tracking cookies. Plausible is cookieless. The GoHighLevel contact form may set a small number of functional cookies when you submit it (for example, to prevent spam). We do not set cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep what we need for as long as we need it, and no longer:

• Contact-form submissions: kept for up to 24 months unless you become a client.
• Consultation and client records: kept for the duration of our working relationship and for 7 years afterwards (Portuguese commercial-records requirements).
• Order records: kept for 10 years (Portuguese tax law).
• Analytics: aggregated, retained per Plausible’s policy.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner where the law allows.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR (and equivalent laws in your jurisdiction), you have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that’s inaccurate.
• Have your information deleted (where we’re not legally required to keep it).
• Restrict or object to certain uses.
• Receive your information in a portable format.
• Withdraw any consent you previously gave, at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@ambanutrition.com. We’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) in Portugal, or with your local supervisory authority.

8. Children

The practice serves adult women. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted information through our site, contact us and we’ll delete it.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-controlled storage, and the security commitments of our service providers. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information, we’ll notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated more prominently — for example, by email if you’re a client.
